A plan built to protect what matters

A Medicaid Protection Trust can help you qualify for long-term care coverage while helping preserve your home and savings for the people you love.

Protect your home & savings

A properly structured irrevocable trust can help keep the home and assets you've worked a lifetime for from being spent down on long-term care.

Plan before the look-back

Nursing-home Medicaid reviews the last five years of transfers, and New York's new 30-month home-care look-back is coming. The earlier you plan, the more you protect.

Flat fees, not billable hours

Know your cost from the start. You receive a written fixed price before you commit. No hourly surprises, no watching the clock.

Irrevocable trust planning

A Medicaid Asset Protection Trust is a precise instrument. We design, draft, and fund it with the care and precision it requires. The details matter.

Families we’ve helped

I had the pleasure of working with Attorney Kim and her team for a Power of Attorney and Deed Transfer for my elderly parents. From start to finish, they were incredibly professional, patient, and understanding, taking the time to explain every step. Attorney Kim was especially knowledgeable and compassionate, and provided a level of care that made a difficult situation much easier to navigate. My only regret is not making an appointment sooner.

Attorney Jiah Kim explained the Medicaid application-related trust process carefully from beginning to end, helping us understand a complicated process and achieve a good result.

Common questions

We make too much or own too much to qualify.

That's rarely the full story. New York's income limit for a single applicant is around $1,800 a month, but a Pooled Income Trust can shelter excess income, and many assets are exempt or protectable.

Is it too late if my parent is already in a nursing home?

No. Crisis-planning options are often still available after admission. The sooner you review them, the more options remain.

Can we keep the home?

In most cases the primary residence is exempt while you or your spouse lives there. The risk comes later, through Medicaid Estate Recovery, which is why a properly structured asset protection trust matters.

Is my IRA counted as an asset?

In New York, an IRA in payout status (taking required minimum distributions) is generally exempt from Medicaid's asset count. It is one of the most important and least-known rules.

How much does it cost?

Our Medicaid planning is flat-fee. You receive a written fixed price before you commit. No hourly surprises.
